Happy Holidays from Emily & Jeff Smith
Aerial Video of the Twin Lights Historic Site in Highlands, NJ at Dusk. Situated 200 feet above sea level atop the Navesink Highlands, Twin Lights has stood as a sentinel over the treacherous coastal waters of northern New Jersey since 1828. Named Navesink Lightstation, it became known as the "Twin Lights of Highlands" to those who used its mighty beacons to navigate. As the primary seacoast light for The Highlands, New York Harbor, it was the best and brightest light in North America for generations of seafarers. Many a life and cargo were saved by the sweep of its light.

The Strauss Mansion Home of the Atlantic Highlands Historical Society
On June 8,1986 the doors of “The Towers” opened to the public and became the Strauss Mansion Museum, the Society’s home. In 2012 with great pride the Strauss Mansion was listed on the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places. We are thrilled to have the support of the New Jersey Historic Trust and the 1772 Foundation. Atlantic Highlands is a quaint Victorian town on the New Jersey shore overlooking lower New York Bay with views of Manhattan in the distance. Its hills include the highest point on the eastern seaboard south of Maine. Many of Atlantic Highlands’ Victorian homes have been preserved and restored adding to the charm of small town living providing interesting walking tours in the historic district.
Christ Church Parish was founded on Christmas Day in 1702. The cornerstone was laid in 1769 and the church is on the National and State Registers of Historic Places and is part of the Four Corners Historic District. The Rectory, constructed in 1824, is part of the Shrewsbury Historic District as well. Christ Church is an active, modern congregation housed within treasured buildings and surrounded by a beautiful historic graveyard. Produced by Robert M. Atlantic Highlands Winter Storm
Winter Storm Jonas dropped a record amount of snow along the North East Corridor on Saturday, January 24th, 2015. A classic Nor’easter, Jonas was accompanied by winds gusting to 50 MPH in our area and was accompanied by full moon tides. Since the storm occurred over the weekend, the 24 (or so) inches of snow was more of a nuisance than a threat. The State, County and Borough had the highways and streets pretty much clear by Sunday afternoon. Sure was pretty!
